Frank Nitsche (German, b.1964) is a Postmodern Abstractionist painter whose work focuses on futuristic Constructivism. Born in Görlitz, Germany, Nitsche studied art at Hochschule für Bildende Kunste in Dresden, Germany, from 1988 to 1995, earning his diploma and a MFA. In 1998, he was awarded a scholarship by the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf to further his studies. Growing up in Dresden was a major inspiration in the development of his artistic talent. Dresden, once a beautiful city, experienced the brunt of the Second World War devastation and no amount of patching up and filling holes on its cityscape by the German government could restore its former beauty.
